Kuala Lumpur Sentral Station, or KL Sentral Station, is the main railway station of Kuala Lumpur. KL Sentral Station was designed as a transportation hub. It is setup to be a station which provides transfers between buses and trains. It is marked as the central point for most of Kuala Lumpur's rail-based public transportation, and it is also an important transitional point for inter-city trains serving Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore. It has retail and food outlets as well as a food court, it was designed to accommodate 50 million passengers a year and up to 100 million by 2020. KL Sentral Station is divided into separate sections for different types of rail services:
• Transit Concourse, Level 1: Urban public transit services such as the KTM Komuter, KLIA Transit and the Kelana Jaya Line light rail transit.
• Transit Concourse, Level 2: KTM inter-city trains.
• KL City Air Terminal (KL CAT): KLIA Ekspres, and the high-speed rail service to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
