THE Sepang International Circuit (SIC) is more than a place for motor-racing and all kinds of events can be held away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

SIC assistant marketing manager Arvin Randahwa said from the F1 track that could seat 130,000, the race circuit was a good choice for all kind of events, indoor or outdoor; weddings receptions, corporate gala functions, non-profit fundraisers, fashion shows, concerts, private functions and corporate team-building activities.

“Being closely situated to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) also makes us an ideal place for world-class international events,” he said.

Located 30 minutes away from the city, surrounded by greenery with ample parking space and a magnificent view of the KLIA, SIC promises an international event experience like no other.

Facilities available include the Welcome Centre, Perdana Suite, Paddock Club, 18 Corporate Suites and the Support Paddock (North), Roof Top, Helipad, Media Centre and the Mall Area.

“You can even have a party on the Helipad and its perimeter is fenced to ensure privacy,” said Randahwa.

He said apart from motorsports-related activities, there were also other fun activities at SIC. Zorbin and Hamster Roll are two of the activities held at the three lakes in the area, which are a new craze worldwide.

Randahwa said another unique option for corporate events were the Corporate Suites with 171 sq metres of luxury.

“Each suite has a sofa set, two restrooms, four television sets, a counter top and a pantry.

“You can entertain your close relatives, friends or corporate partners with a pre-event before leading them upstairs to the Corporate Platform for a night of partying under the stars.,” said Randahwa.

“Ever wanted to have a party with aircraft taking off or landing, then the Helipad located near the KLIA runway is an ideal choice,” he said.

The Media Centre is a good option for conferences and corporate presentations.

The centre is surrounded by glass walls and even has a press conference room with seats and a mini stage. The centre has 430 seats, each equipped with its own table, television set, power option and internet cable.

The four Paddock Clubs are air-conditioned halls on the upper entrance of the Main Pit building, giving a spectacular view of the F1 track.

During F1, this area is a favourite among fans. The halls can each be transformed into ballrooms or a convention area and is an ultimate choice for large events.

The glass walls give a modern look and feel to the place. The lower entrance to the Paddock Clubs also serves as drop-off points and is ideal for cocktail sessions before leading guests up the main hall.

The Perdana Suite is the most exclusive of the facilities and is usually reserved for royal and VVIP guests. Located on the second floor of the Pit Building, it can accommodate 250 people.

The Perdena Suite is fully carpeted and has its own pantry, washrooms, surau and extends to the rooftop.

Rooftop functions give a relaxed feel which one does not get when attending an event indoors.

The Welcome Centre at SIC has it all ?a cafe that can seat up to 250 people, a ticketing station, a customer service centre, washrooms, car park, covered area and open area.

Situated right between the North and South Grandstand, the Mall Area in SIC is vast. It has 10 stalls or mini-booths ?complete with kitchen counters and storage area and with the icon of SIC, the Hibiscus Tower also situated here.
