Make it easy for travellers going to Terminal 3, please

Friday May 29, 2009

PRICES of goods, services and taxi fares seem to be sky-rocketing by the day and there seems to be no end to it. The scenario is now set for another price hike in public transportation.

I travel frequently via the LCCT and KLIA. While I have the choice of taking the Sky coach, Airport coach or the ERL, I refrain from taking the taxi unless there are four of us. I have had the experience of taxis being driven recklessly, or bone-shaker taxis with faulty shock-absorber that should no longer be allowed on the road.

Now that the Terminal 3 at Subang has become another Terminal hub, it would really help if the Putra (Kelana Jaya) line be extended right up to Terminal 3. There would be less hassle to get taxis to go to Terminal 3, especially in the evenings when traffic in KL is clogged up and taxis drivers simply refuse to drive up to Terminal 3 unless we agree to their exobitant fares.

I also like to suggest a shuttle service from Hentian Duta terminal catering passengers from the North to go to the nearest LRT station. Otherwise, express buses from the north should be permitted to disembark passengers at Titiwangsa or the Hentian Putra to enable commuters to get to their destination using a cheaper mode of transport and avoid the taxis.

ZAINOL IBRAHIM,
