Phuket Trip: Unforgettable Experience in LCCT
It was my first trip to Phuket,
It was my first time departing from LCCT,
T’was the most memorable company trip, I daresay!
On the 28th July 2006, we were scheduled to meet in TPM to depart together on the bus pre-arranged to pick us up by 12pm. Despite the pre-arrangement, things started to get wrong from the first point - the bus got to us only at 1pm! Not only were we terrible tired of waiting, but also of hunger. Still, we were full of enthusiasm coz it’s an oversea trip...

LCCT
Just so you know, here they provide a special terminal for low-budget airlines like Air Asia. So if you use low-budget airliners, you'd go to a different building set apart from the main airport. Unlike Indonesia...

Budget airline terminal or airline budget terminal?
I just got to know that me and my buddies will have the ‘honor’ to become some of the first group of people to be departed from our new KL budget airline terminal.
The new budget terminal in Kuala Lumpur should be operational starting 23rd March handling some flight arrivals while on 24th March will start handling flight departures. Well I am on 24th, leaving to KK on Air Asia...

Scenes from LCCT
When the LCCT was opened in March 23, 2006, all local flights (OK, AirAsia) has been tranferred there. In other words, if you cannot pay for a decent fare, you have been punished by being forced to go to another place far far away from those well paying folks. Ha ha ha ha....

AirAsia & LCCT
There's a saying in Chinese, that is 'Pay RM1 and you'll get back what worth RM1'...Haha...I don't know how to translate into English, but, the meaning is there lah. Below is my flying experience...I pay so little, thus, that's what I get back...

KL (LCCT) - Kuching (AirAsia 3 weeks ago)
1. Nothing to shout about LCCT. Low class, cheap layout and place look disarray and not systematic.
2. Checking-in still same old style and not kids/senior citizen friendly.
3. At the boarding counter, still no line nor any systematic approach on crowd control. As soon as boarding annoucement was heard the whole place turn into pasar malam. Everybody trying to cut queue, jump queue and etc...

LCCT - Kuala Lumpur Low Cost Carrier Terminal
The first time is been to the KLIA LCC Terminal was to catch a flight to Indonesia earlier this month. I'm flying with AirAsia - Malaysian based low cost carrier. The first impression when I reach the terminal is that it looked like a typical centralized Malaysian wet market - the place you go and buy your meat, fish and vegetables...

Low-Cost Carrier Terminal in KLIA : National Interest vs Individual Interest
On Wednesday, February 23rd 2005, the Cabinet has decided once and for all, that the new dedicated Low-Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) would be built in Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and not the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (SAAS) in Subang.
Many would argue that Subang is better, it makes sense. KLIA is far, transport is expensive, why pay KLIA Express RM 35 to catch an AirAsia flight that costs you just RM 0.99 (Excluding the RM 16 airport tax) ? Subang is closer, facilities are there, cheap, save time, etc...

The One with the new low cost terminal
Yesterday, I made a trip to new low cost carrier terminal at KLIA. Getting there is easy, just follow the exit to the Sepang Circuit/Mas Cargo, which is the first exit after the KLIA toll. The LCC terminal is specifically designed to suit the Low Cost Carrier (LCC) business model where it would be no escalators, aerobridges and thus, be able to have a shorter turnaround time...

Air Asia - Now everyone can be fried.
Finally, I back to PJ now. It was a great holiday especially after a few months of heavy work, Ms Stress and Mr Mentally-imbalance had always came to visits me, so I need some time to relax… Yup, I applied 3 days leave and went to Tawau, Sabah for visiting my boy friend’s family. What a great time I had. I took Sky bus from KL Sentral to LCCT (Low Cost Carrier Terminal) which cost me RM9...

Left Luggage service at Low Cost Carrier terminal (LCCT)
We arrive in KLIA at 7AM. Our AirAsia flight to Langkawi is at 12:45P, the same day, out of LCCT. We plan to leave our big bags at the airport (since AirAsia seems to make a big fuss about big bags) and collect them on our return from Langkawi. A few questions:
1. Is there a left luggage service at LCCT where we can leave our bags for a few days? If so, what are the charges?
2. Has anyone used these services either at KLIA or LCCT? How reliable/safe is it?
3. Since we have more than 5 hrs to kill at the airport, any suggestions of how we can spend them. Are there rooms/lounges (like in Singapore Changi airport) where we can relax? Any shower facilities?

LCCT. Low Cost Carrier Terminal of KLIA.
Today let's talk a little bit about LCCT which has began it's operation some 2 weeks ago.
First of all, this LCCT looked like a huge hypermarket in the eyes of Fat Lady. She told me that OMG she thought that it was some Macro Hypermarket opening at KLIA area
But it was not bad actually... let's see what I have...

Day 1: Wednesday, 9th August
Went to Masjid India by LRT in the morning to get our RM changed to Rp. Felt so weird carrying some ‘millions’, although only in Rp lah. Finished all our packing, and the initial thought of being able to carry a medium-sized bag with lots of room to spare was WRONG. The bag ended up to be about 80% full. Hahahaha. Left the house in the afternoon, had lunch with brother and sister, and she sent us to the LCCT. Our first time there, no idea it was THAT bloody far away from the rest of civilization...

3rd world taxi implementation @ KLIA & LCCT
Can anybody tell me why the Klang Valley taxis are given lower priority than the LCCT taxis to pick up passenger at Low Cost Carrier Terminal?
I just don't understand, why the government is allowing this to happen? The KLIA limo taxis are not operating the transport service so efficiently, and yet it is still not allowing city cabs to operate at KLIA airport. Still remember that last year in December, it came out in the Chinese Newspaper - Sinchew Daily, saying that KLIA will be allowing low cost taxis to operate starting from March this year...

Gateway
LCCT was such a sight, the first impression it gave me was that it resembles the Melbourne International Airport. It was however a little troublesome to get there, an hour and fifteen minutes ride from KL Sentral to LCCT is rather illogical, cos the flight itself only took less than 55 minutes. Perhaps they should do something about the hour long journey to get there, and make use of the million dollar ERL...

Going Back Home
Took the KLIA transit to KLIA. Then, from KLIA, i was to take a shuttle bus to the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT). I've never taken the bus before.. So i went to the Air Asia ticket counter for directions. The stupid person at the counter gave me the wrong directions with an extremely fake/plastic surgery smile...

Pan Pacific or Concorde Inn?
Got a 07:20 flight departing from LCCT. From what people are saying in the forum Concorde Inn is closer to the LCCT but I also read the not-so-good reviews about the place. We are not TOO picky but would like to have a clean and not quite so shabby place. Should we stay at the Pan Pacific instead? How far are these hotels to the LCCT respectively by cab?
